I am really pleased to announce that I have a new column in Practical Photography magazine. Starting in the Spring edition, which has now been published, I will be writing about my experiences photographing wildlife and the natural world.
The January edition of Practical Photography contained a seven page feature about my ongoing Badger photography project. Following the publication of this feature, I was offered the opportunity to write a wildife and natural world column by Practical Photography’s Group Editor, Ben Hawkins. I follow on from the excellent column written by wildlife photographer Simon Roy (www.simonroyphotography.co.uk) over the previous 18 months and sit alongside Verity Milligan’s (www.veritymilliganphotography.com) column on landscape photography.
As part of my introduction to its readers, I spent a day photographing urban Red kites with Practical Photographer’s Features Editor, Louise Carey, and Videographer, Jake Kindred, for a feature in Practical Photography’s Learn Photography Now. Whilst the weather and conditions were a little challenging, we all had a great time and a video of our exploits is included with the Spring edition.
I am really looking forward to writing about my experiences photographing wildlife and the natural world over the coming months and hope that Practical Photographer’s readers enjoy reading about them.
